Default Studded sucks!

So had a set of Nokian LT3 studded put on earlier today while on my way cross country and OMG they are horrible, at least for me. Even going 80kph with a good cross breeze and I was swaying like frikkin crazy. Seriously never felt so unsafe when winter driving so at another shop now having my X-ice latitude put back on and I can honestly say the X-ice are hands down far superior to the expensive as hell Nokian's. I'm sure studded are great on straight ice and when not going over 60kph, but even on packed snow the X-ice are still way better imho.

Just wanted to share my experience for those thinking of going with studded.

Happy holidayholidays fellas

Were the Nokian's over inflated? Did they sipe them along with studding them? Some vehicles handle like Shi!! with siped tires.

Nokians were at 35 and then I dropped to 32 for a bit and no different and they were factory studded and my X-ice are siped I believe.

I run at minimum 35, usually even 40 on my '07.

First set of studded tire? I used them in the 1970's WI. On pavement they are near nasty especially when new, which is why WI made studs illegal (along with road dammage). Snow and ice it's a different story. KM

Yokohama Iceguard are excellent ice tires. I highly recommend them. I don’t care for the studded tires either. They are noisy and cause damage to the garage floor.
