Question Steering Wheel not in the middle

2007 F150 Lariat, 5.4 3V 4x4

Hi,
I have the truck since one month. The mechanic have Spark plugs replaced (one is broken), petrol control unit replaced, steering shaft replaced.
After replacing the steering shaft, the steering wheel is no longer exactly in the middle position. (approx 1 inch at the top)
Will this be set about the tie rod ends (head) or do I have to dismantle and adjust the steering wheel itself?
Is the toe-in normaly realy 0°? I found no value in my repair manual.

thanks for help

That small of a difference you could just adjust tie rod ends IMO. An alignment would probably fix as well.

It's possible you just need an alignment. Or They could have got off 1 spline when they replaced the steering shaft. The correct way to fix it is to take the shaft back off and make sure the wheel is centered and the rack is centered and then reassemble. If the rack is not centered you can run into troubles by running it into it's end before the turn limiters at the knuckle a arm interface can do their job

Thank you for answer. I would try it about the rod ends because i think they can't have done anything wrong. The ends of the steering shaft are squares on bouth sides. So only 90 degrees position can bee wrong. I think the old steering shaft flees not exactly.

Does anyone know the original toe-in of the front tires? Is it realy 0 degrees with +-0,15 degrees tolerance?
