Default steering wheel controls adapter

if you have one of these on your aftermarket HU, which one do you have and does it work good? I am a little concerned with the button that controls the presets as well as the next song on cd's. does this require any special programming or will it just work for both if I program it as the next button. sorry if this is confusing

i got mine from crutchfield.com it works ok. just follow the directions. u can program your wheel buttons to do a number of different things depending on your head unit they have to be compatible. have had it installed on a pioneer touch screen for about 2 yrs no problems.

This what I used on my Pioneer AVH3200. Very easy to hook up, 4 wires + & - then 1 control wire in factory harness, then ground one wire on ford radio harness. Turn on ignition and it automatically identifies your vehicle and aftermarket HU and auto programs.

I could not believe how awesome this thing went in and auto programed. Company has great website with vehicle specific wiring details.

Had it in the truck for a month now and it works every bit as good as OEM operations, no delays, never made a goof up... flawless.

You can manually program it, if you wish your buttons doing something other than what they are labeled to do. I left mine in stock configuration.

Best Regards
Doug

I have the same one with my Sony receiver, it works but it won't work if its the first time the button had been pressed since the truck has been on, just gotta press it (any button) twice when its first turned on. Also it always seeks the radio down whenever I take the key out, which is weird because I don't even have a button for that. Overall I'd give it an 8/10, still love it and still very practical.
