Default steering rack

I have a 4x4 2006 f150 xlt that has a leak on the rack and pinion where the steering shaft goes in. I have seen rebuild kits on numerous websites for it, but have yet to see or hear of a single person rebuilding thier rack and pinion.
So, has anyone on here ever rebuilt thiers, or have directions of how to rebuild it?
And where is the cheapest place yall have found to buy a new/remanufactured rack?

Thanks in advance

I actually work at a company that builds rack and pinions for OEM for different applications. How bad is your leak? If it's not bad I wouldn't worry about it, unless it's a simple outer seal. I would not in any case disable the rack bar or pinion, you will loose your preset yoke setting. Something you won't be able to set accurately with simple tools at home.

I'd just replace it when the leak gets tiresome.

U can kinda get the problem you get into by the picture. Of course the seals on the steering tubing may be leaking.
