Lat one I had with this problem, it took a lot of thrust an a lot of working back and forth to free up that joint. Check your control arms and ball joints as well. IWE shouldn't give you steering problems unless one was engaging and dragging your CV along for the ride.

Mine shaft was the same. I tried to spray it down, nothing. Removed the shaft and drowned it and worked the crap out of it. Reinstalled it, its like the day I drove it off the lot

Jamie did you have the same problem as me? Turning to one side and feeling something drag when it tries to turn?

The wheel was stiff had to turn with both hands, and it would not return to center. The first turn of the wheel was really stiff compared to the 2nd turn.

The shaft has 2 u joints on one down by the rack and the other is by the brake master cylinder

Hmmm, mine isn't really hard to turn, I just feel a little resistance in it compared to turning to the right. It comes back to center fine too. It's like when I turn to the left I can hear and feel something almost like its rubbing or hitting something every time the wheel turns. Kind of like a slapping feeling/noise
