Starting Problem W/06?

Got my truck back from the stealership Wednesday. Been there for 2 weeks. Here is the story. Kinda long. Ever since I had the transfer case shift motor, wiring harness, switch and relay replaced last month, my dash lights would flicker on and off. I figured I would take it in when something catastrophic happened. Believe me, it happened. All along I had been having starting issues. One day, I was hauling one of our tandem axle car haulers with a 500 gallon hydraulic tank and motor on it from one of our warehouses. The tank was empty. So with the trailer and the tank, weight was maybe 2400-2600 pounds. I tried starting the truck repeatedly, and it happened. tons of black smoke from the pipe and misfiring like mad. CES light comes on too. I tried to pull the trailer back up to the warehouse, no dice. Truck may have moved 6 feet mashed to the floor. So off to the stealership it went. Come to find out they replaced the ECU, 6 injectors, rails, and engine harness. Also got a new guage cluster and a new back window seal. It was leaking so I told them to fix it. I also told them to check the transfer case while they were at it. I used it the week before and it rattled pretty bad going downhill. Another transfer case shift motor. So, everything is good again this month. Turns out I have had this truck in the shop 8 times since I got it. May turn out to be a lemon because it only has 21K on the ticker.

I had a similar problem on mine. The truck was 2 weeks old, and it wouldn't start. Everything worked : lights, windows, etc, but she just wouldn't turn over. The starter wouldn't even click.
I had it towed to the dealer and they replaced the ECU. I also had to have my remotes and the keys reprogrammed. I beleive it's the PATS system that went tango-uniform.
My son's 04 F-150 has done the same thing, several times. With it, you usually just let it sit for a bit and then it'll start. Recently it simply wouldn't, so we towed it to the dealership, where of course it started, and they couldn't find anything wrong. Hopefully they'll find it.

I have had mine to the dealership twice for the same problem, the first time it started right up for them. So they went ahead and checked the codes, starter, alternator, and battery. The said they couldn't repeat the problems so they sent me on my way. Two days later the same thing happened. So I had it towed again this time it wouldn't start for them, but all they did was fiddle around with the fuses and it started up, they didn't replace them just monkeyed with the box a little and if fired up. So again they don't know what to do, and I am waiting again for it to strand me somewhere. Does anyone have a place to start looking for this problem??? What is the ECU, and could this be the PATS system? I thought it would crank if it was? I am puzzled.
Thanks

I think I have mine figured out.. 2005 F150 5.4l... Start fine and then a couple weeks go by pull in and no start... jump it and its fine??? Replaced the Starter Twice, New Batt!!! After Talking to everyone, the cable gets water in it and cordes... Still shows 12v, but intermittanly not enough AMP's... And the new fords use a ceramic starter, so if you don't have full cranking amps... Just clicks and doesn't throw out... So I want to replace the cables, but its part of the harness.. Does anyone have a diagram so i can see if I can just runn new cables... I think they packaged those with other wires to clean up the carpartment... Anyone know or have a diagram?
