I'm not sure but I believe somewhere around $125. The problem is this did not fix my issue! My truck left me stranded on Thursday 4/6/17 and I eventually got it started and made it home. Once I got home it started 3 more times and I gave up. Friday morning it started up again and I believe I tested it again Saturday. Problem is I just went for a 30 mile test drive and now my truck isn't starting. I'm thinking it's temperature related now but I'm now sure. My battery reading is 12.6V which should be enough to start the truck. I'm not sure what is going on. This is extremely frustrating!

Oh well crap, I thought it was fixed. I linked your thread to a member needing help finding a PCM. Hope you figure it out.

Oh no this thread went dead.

Jeffrey O'hara - did you ever figrue out the root cause of your problem? I am having the EXACT same issue and am about to replace the PCM.....but if its not the PCM, i obviously don't want too.

Thanks.

Default It is very hard to train some one remotely and interpret results

Very hard to follow how someone uses test instruments and reference voltages . Teaching ohms and volt readings along with corroded reference points is a big problem .Then there is load testing and false readings . Twisted wires no good in vehicles you must solder. A pen type solder can get almost anywhere . I think he needed a test light with a lead running to battery .
I really wanted this fixed , Made me wonder about his key and the plastic linkage on shifter . Plus he could have had ground corrosion problems . Wish I could have been there .He did try very hard . I hope he got good help .

I didn't see his post but he sent me a private message and I saw that email notification and replied to him. The problem ended up being a wire issue. I'm not sure if there was a break in the wire or it was exposed and grounding somewhere. I took it to ford and they fixed my issue. I believe he spliced into the blue/ orange wire up on the passenger side of the truck under the hood and rerouted that new wire through the drive side and into the ignition switch but I'm not sure. I ultimately was pretty close but better off having the certified technician handle the wiring and soldering. My truck was at the shop a few days and multiple technicians were trying to figure out the issue but it ended up being relatively inexpensive to fix. Good luck.

Default Parked my 2008 fx4 on incline now won't start

hey everyone newbie to this great site was wondering if I could get some advice from all you ford lovers..My 200 f150 went dead I backed up a slight incline parked went inside work came out and tried starting it up click but nothing else battery is fully charged no issues and cable to battery seem ok.I could not tap my starter to see if I could get it to turn over.I WILL BE GETTING IT TOWED TO MY HOUSE IN THE AM was wondering if anyone had any ideas on something that could be simple I have never had any issues starting it up at all.I understand it maybe a starter or solenoid or even connections on starter I will check that as well but is there anything like sensors ,maybe the parking job on incline ,or relay? any advice would be greatly appreciated

I had the same issue and have bought the part to fix it. I bought the ignition module. Everytime it decides at random not to start I raise the hood remove the #2 rela (8L8T-14B192-AA and with my key turned to run I jump the two wired that the relay sends voltage to the starter to start. I send the voltage by doing this. Keeps me from being stranded until I have time to swap the ignition module. Its not the relay. It needs the signal from the worn out ignition in order to send the start volts. The part is still in my glove box. The jumper will prove the part to be the issue .

Default What year was his truck?

He replaced the connection piece on the transmission (I have no idea what its called) and it took care of the problem. I'm no expert, this just came to mind when I read your post. hey I seen this reply and I’m curious as to what year his truck was I’m facing a similar issue where crank no start In my 02 F150 but it has the old school non electric shifter and roll up and down windows however I do know that the wire from the gear position indicator in the dash was all zip tied holding it in place but it registers as being In reverse when it’s in park I’m not sure if it matters with it being non electrical but thought I would inquire I would much rather be able to drive it home than tow it home Tomorrow!

you do realize I made a new post and responded to another and requested to befriend a senior member of the forum trying to get advice and help on the problem and you do realize I asked an individual directly about his response to a thread he posted on, not the forum as a group? But thanks captain obvious for clearing that up for me instead of actually trying to maybe put some insight as to what I could do to fix the situation! Where are you a tech at I wanna be sure to never bring my vehicles or even my children’s bicycles or power wheels for you to work on!
