I have a 2008 f-150# so I took out my old starter replaced it with a new one and when I put the power to the battery below the engine it's making a spinning noise any one know y so this would happen? ??

 

sounds like the starter is engaging without the ignition on..but if it was trying to start the truck seems like you would hear more than a spinning sound. unless the gears on the bendix are staying down and not hitting the fly wheel..man I have had more trouble with finding a good starter this week than you could shake a stick at..I now make them test it over and over to see what the gear is doing I've gotten so many bad ones.
