Default Starter issue?

I've had this problem for about 3 months now. When I start my 05 f150 when the engine is cold it will start up fine, but when the engine is still hot and I go to start it the truck it will sputter than turn on. Sometimes it will make a sputtering sound and some times it will be a lot worse and sound like a scratching/sputtering sound. It has never gave me this problem if my truck has been sitting for over an hour. Could it be the starter or maybe something else.

The truck is a 2wd 05 lariat to be more specific. If my explanation isn't clear enough just ask. I may be able to explain it better for you. Thanks.

You are going to have to explain it better.

Your thinking its a starter issue... A starter issue has nothing to do with the way it runs. If the start is good, when you try to start it, The engine will crank over... If might not start, but the engine will crank.

If its a problem with the way the engine is running after its starts, it has nothing to do with the actual "starter" The onlything the starter does for an engine is crank it over.

Naw not a starter, sputtering usually means starving for fuel

Start with the easy/cheap stuff that helps an engine run smooth. Change the fuel filter, air filter, MAF sensor, throttle body, clean battery terminals.

If you need any instructions on how to do these things, please use the search function.

The truck runs fine once started. The reason I think it is the starter is that when i go to crank it it sputters than it turns over. It idles fine and runs smoothly. The reason for my confusion is that it only does it when the engine is hot. And the two different sounds it will make. I've changed the fuel filter in it. It'll either make a sputter sound or a scratching or scrape sound when trying to turn it over, but it will only make this sound when trying to start my truck when the engine is hot. and when it does have this issue, my truck will always turn over. It has never not started when I am having this problem.
