started the plugs
Broke 4 plugs. 3 on the right and one on the left.
They all broke the same were I needed to push the porcelain then pull the rest of the plug out.
This was on a cold engine. Lots of carbon build up on the bottom of the plug even after letting them soak over night. I probably didnt crack them enough to were the PB buster got down into the plug far enough. Who knows.
Three of the ones that didnt break came out very easily and quickly. The last non-broken one took a while. Screeched a lot when I was removing it. Only one to do this.
Next time, if there is one, going to do it with a hot engine and see how that goes.
Overall it wasnt a bad job. Time flies when your having fun. Took 3 1/3 hours this morning & 1 1/2 hrs last night to remove the cia, ecm, the cops and crack and soak the plugs.

You say it's better to do it with a hot engine? I have always heard that on these trucks doing plugs on a hot engine is bad because it could ruin the threads in the heads since they are aluminum and too "malleable" at operating temp.
Or is it only important to have a cold engine when you torque the new ones back down to avoid this?
Helping a buddy with his soon so just want to clarify.

Bossgame- guys are doing it with impact guns on warm engines from what I gather. Cold engines by hand.
I was saying if I do it next time, with the anti sieze I have on the plugs, maybe a warm engine will be better. I can be completely wrong in my thinking.
The only thing that I got nervous was on 2 broken plugs when I removed them after using the lisle tool the ground straps were broken. I don't think it was from pushing the porcelain but screwing the puller tool into far to get a bite on the plug housing it pushed the porcelain too far and broke the straps. After looking at the plug ends I realized the broke not broke off.
I used a magnet and shop vac just incase to clean out the holes.
