as stated in another post..im new to fords...coming from a lifetime of gm's I have questions ...

2004 screw fx4 5.4

Nearly every time I crank the truck when its cold...it idles upto right around 1k rpm....after I tap the throttle and let off it backs down to 600-800rpm....is any of this normal? If not what's normal idle range?

 

Yes that is normal. My 07 did the same thing while it was warming up. I wouldn't worry about it.
