Stalling after drive facing up hill
My truck has started to have an intermittent stalling issue. It happens after driving almost 40 miles, to or from work, without any issues. When i am pulling into a parking spot at work or into my garage the truck starts to stall. if I rev the engine the problem stops. Any ideas?
Depending on how hold it is, I'd consider a new fuel filter. Presumably you'd have the problem all the time with a clogged/full fuel-filter...but heat can have an effect on these things. If that doesn't clear it up, you have to start looking at fuel pressure. The longer that fuel pump has to work, the hotter it gets and potentially becomes less efficient. If I am not mistaken, the fuel pump is a variable PSI pump and the PCM will tell it to spin faster / pump more fuel at higher RPMs. The last thing in the line would be the fuel rail / injectors. Any issues there could be only apparent during full op-temp.
The last thing I suppose would be ignition. You could have a COP that is marginal/failing at full-op-temp. But with that, I would expect a full-stall...just a miss. If you leave the truck alone and don't try to rev it to keep it running ... will it actually die/stall?
