Default Stall when turning/Check Gauges

Hey guys,

New to this site and lately running into issues with my 2008 Ford F150 4.6. It has been happening more often, but when I come into a turn at lower speed, the truck stalls and the "check gauges" signal comes on. It is pretty scary because I sometimes pull my landscaping trailer and it happens then. Both with and without towing. Any feedback is much appreciated. It has 155,000 miles on it.

The only thing that comes up is “Check Gauges” where the odometer is.

I'm no mechanic so take this as you will. I had a 2005 5.4 that developed the same issue at around the same mileage of 140,000 or so. Replacing the Purge Valve Canister seemed to resolve the issue. I hope this helps.

I had the same issue in my truck. 2006 F150 4.6. I cleaned my throttle body and mass airflow sensor and it hasn't stalled out since.

Same here. I cleaned my TB and it stopped cutting out. I also cleaned the MAF later but I would clean both while your in there anyway.

Make sure you buy the correct stuff, they sell TB cleaner and a seperate MAF cleaner. Just be careful with the MAF, can't touch the wires in there.

Thanks guys! I’m going to try that first. A local mechanic said the same thing, those tb’s can get caked inside and you have to physically wipe them out sometimes.
