Squeaky [Steering] Wheel Gets the Grease?
2008 F150 5.4 4X4. I had the ‘stealer’ lube the bushing in the steering column a few months ago when it was making a low pitch squeaking noise while making turns at low speed (maneuvering in parking lots, etc.). A few months later, you guessed it…it’s back!
Two questions:
1: Is lubricating the bushing easy for me to do on my own? If so, how?
2: Is the noise an indication of some other larger problem? I’m especially concerned already with the low miles (17,000) and late model year. It never happened with my Ranger.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

I know this is an old thread but does anyone have an answer to this? I have noticed a squeaking noise coming from inside my cab around the steering wheel when making turns in parking lots and other slow turns.
To be honest, the squeaking noise from the steering column was a lot less than it was before the dealer lubed the bushing in the steering column, so I didn't pursue the issue further. I occasionally hear a little noise, but it's tolerable.
If you haven't done so already, I'd recommend getting the bushing taken care of.
Hope this helps!
