Default Sputtering upon acceleration - please help!

2006 F150 XLT SuperCab 5.4L, 38,000 miles.

I’ve had a sputtering problem in the past that I’ve posted about on here before and for a while they seemed to go away. I replaced all coil packs and plugs, fuel filter, fuel
pump control module, and battery. I’ve cleaned the throttle body and replaced the MAF...but the new MAF caused a couple of codes so I put the old one back in. The new one didn’t help.

Basically it starts and idles just fine. Then, when I put it into
Drive and try to accelerate away it just sputters like it’s out of gas and gets as close to dying as it can get without dying. If I let off the gas it returns to idle and idles pretty much fine. The only thing I’ve noticed is some drips of water coming out of the tailpipe but maybe that’s normal. The last few times it’s done this, if I warm it up a little and rev it out a bit, it seems fine.

Any ideas?

Thank you!

Oh, and when it’s not doing this sputtering thing, it runs and drives perfectly fine. No symptoms whatsoever. It just happens out of no where it seems.

Default with no codes not much to go on

38k on a 2006 that's hard to believe. My only guess would be a defective throttle body . The decoder board is on the motor and even cleaned there could be a mechanical fault . Mine failed over several weeks seems they had a bad series in 05 .
Did you put all new boots on plugs . Clean coil contacts real well . Think about getting torque pro for android phone and Bluetooth reader . It will give you raw data and all kinds of things going down the road .

I don’t drive it too much, low miles I agree. Also have a 2012 FJ Cruiser with only 6800! (for sale)

Anyway, some of my research suggested it could be the throttle body but what could it be doing to cause that kind of sputtering? It seems like it only opens and closes and that there isn’t much that could cause the sputtering. But what do I know??

Dirty fuel injectors, failing fuel pump?

Bad gas ? With only 38K, gas sits in the tank for awhile and could collect moisture...
