Spindle lock nut
I am trying to gather all the parts I am going to need to change the front brakes and rotors on my 2005 F150 wheel drive. I am trying to locate the spindle lock nuts online so I don't have to shell out what the dalership wants. I was hopeing to only spend around 10 - 15 dollars a piece. Any help would be appreciate. Thank you in advice.
Not sure why you'd need the spindle nuts, unless they've been damaged - however, lmctruck.com and rockauto.com seem to be brought up a lot here.
Personal experience with rockauto.com has been good, no experience with lmctruck.com.
May also check with local parts stores, just for grins. I've been impressed with what the non-chain truly-local stores have stashed back in their parts bins. In some cases, for the premium paid for shipping from online sources, many local stores can be right in the ballpark for the lower-dollar stuff.

Ford reccomends replacing them. I didn't replace mine. Take a hammer, put the nut on the ground and hit it once or twice on top. That re sets the locking part of the nut. Then if its 2wd they torqu to 250 ft lbs.
