Default Speedometer off?

Got pulled over last night by the ST in Bronte Tx at 3:30AM... Said i was going 84 in a 70 but my speedometer never left 75! My question is.... Do 24s and 305-35 tire really throw the odometer off by that much??

That sounds about right.. Also the faster you go the more it is off by.

Tirerack.com has a handy little tool. You can plug in your stock tire size and your current tire size and it'll tell you the percentage of error introduced by the non-stock tires. You can then apply that percentage to your indicated speed to see what you are "really" going. Of course, this doesn't account for any inherent inaccuracy in your particular speedometer.

Same here. With my stock tire size on my 2005 F150, I have been clocked at 2-3 miles below the speedometer reading. Is that common for this truck setup?

Sounds like you should fight that ticket.
