Default Speed 3 on the AC blower is the same as 2.

I have a new style, 2004 F150 Scab. For some reason, the third speed on my heater / AC blower is not working. Switching from 2 to 3 changes nothing. The fan continues as if it is still set to 2.

3 to 4 changes the speed fine.

Is this in the switches in the dash, or is it in the blower motor?

Thanks.

I'd suggest changing the resistor in the heater box. It's accessable though your glove box and about $20 at any box store.

I'll throw a x3 on the blower motor resistor. If not then its probably the switch, most likely it is the resistor.

Thanks. Your advice was perfect. You would have done great on Stump the Chumps on Cartalk.

Found a video online on how to replace it. I did think that $24 for some plastic and resistors was a bit high, but cheaper than the dealer.

Excellent!
