Specs for Timing Guide Bolt Placement?
I'm rebuilding a 2004 Triton 5.4 3 valve engine on an FX4. I screwed up bad and broke off the bolt that holds on the timing chain guide on the driver's side. This is the top bolt on the bottom guide (not the tensioner) that screws into the head, just underneath the valve timing sprocket. Matters got worse when I tried to extract the bolt and broke off the bolt extractor in the hole, as well. I finally removed the entire head and took it to a machine shop. The shop drilled out around the bolt and welded the hole shut, and now is ready to tap a new hole. The only problem is that they don't know exactly where to place the hole. Does anyone know how to find precise measurements for where that hole should be tapped? Is there a diagram somewhere that shows the measurements of the various holes in the head?

I think at this point, you'd have to look at a junk yard and take measurements yourself...I don't see how the shop could have messed that up....It should line up when the rest of the components are on.
