Default Speaking wiring...

Does anyone know (in the door speakers) which wire is positive and which is negative? I replaced my HU with an audiophile HU (very easy and sounds great), plugged in the sub and all is well. The question is now I have replaced the factory speakers with some Kenwood KFC-P680Cs (mid / tweeter combo with built in crossover) and I want to be sure I have the correct plugs because someone told me that although it works ( which it does ), I will lose sound quality if the positive and negative are mixed up... thanks....

2006 KR Super Crew by the way with factory premium but not audiophile.

in my 2004 f150 scab the wire closest to the clip was the positive on the factory door speakers. However, to make sure i did this trick to check the phasing of the speaker.

heres what i did, a good trick to find out which is which. It checks if the speaker is out of phase or in phase (meaning which wire is attached to positive or not)

cut the wiring for the factory door speakers, make sure to leave about an 1-1/2" of wire on the harness side of where you cut. Grab a battery (i used a portable drill battery) and attach place the wire you think is positive on the positve terminal for the battery and negative to negative on the battery. Now as you do this make sure you watch which way the speaker flexes if it flexes up the current wire on the positive is just that the positive wire and the negative is the negative. however if it flexs down the wires are the opposite of how you have on the battery now. For example if i have a green/blue wire and a brown wire, i put the green/blue on the positive battery terminal and the brown on the negative and my speaker flexes downwards towards towards the back of the speaker then the positive will be the brown wire and the green/blue is the negative.

That is very useful... thank you... I will have to do it to my rear since I have clipped and discarded my fronts! The thought only occurred to me once it was too late.
Thanks again!
