speakers/head unit
My '04 f150 super crew has an aftermarket Kenwwod cd/dvd player It is a KDCMP342U player. Old and I keep getting Protect Mode. I suppose one of my speakers may be bad/shorting out. I want to upgrade all speakers anyways above the stock ones in it currently. I am not sure what size and how many? Are there 2 in each front door (5x7 and tweeter?)? Also, in the back door is it just 5x7? I have an unused set of Memphis 6x9 15PRC92 I bought for my 1985 Mustang GT, but they didn't fit my car. They have been sitting in my garage for years. Anyways, long post I know..looking for speaker recommendations and head unit? I have an overhead Monitor I put in years ago.. Weird how all the current dvd/cd/radios are super size…I just wanted a small head unit like the one I have now.. Thanks for making it through this long post

Go to a site like Crutchfield and they should have a vehicle finder that would tell you what size speakers you need. Try to listen to speakers before you buy, Best Buy or some of the big-box places have displays with speakers hooked up that you can listen to.
You can put 6.5" components in the front doors with a homemade adapter out of MDF. I'll see if I can dig up my pics.
You actually can do anything your wallet wants to do when it comes to car audio.
