Spark Plug 2005 5.4 debate ?
Ok so just picked up this 2005 xlt with no service records with 85 k. Going through it all and doing the punch list. Just went with the mercron v partial change ( >6 qts plus 3/4 qt Lucas Stabilizer, pan drop, new filter) fill procedure. Happy to report it shifts and runs Perfect.
So the Plugs??? Already Put in full can Seafoam ( 1/2 with full tank x 2). Going to soak the plug holes with PB blaster at least 24 hours Prior.
Any other tips? Am thinking the Motorcraft sp-515 platinum for $12.99 each at autozone? What say you? Also what method? Hand turn with special deep socket or go with the (Posted here) Utube vid where the guy uses the Impact Wrench and says it works every-time. ???
Thanks for any input!

Some have used an impact on low setting g in a warm engine the quick blows from impact seem to break the collar loose on plug end.. I used a socket wrench with quick blows. And got them all out .. remember to use nickle anti seize for very easy removal the next time
Hey thanks for the write up! Great Pics and to the point. Changed them all today with the Motorcraft sp 515 's . Did the whole chabang as I had no Idea if they had been done. Seafoam in the gas for two tanks, seafoam in the brake intake for blowing out all the crap, and let soak with the cab cleaner and pb blaster combo for about two hours. all came out with out a hitch. They were the pzt 1f 's that were in there. I have read conflicting info if they could be the original but it seems most say they were the "quick fix" plug to replace the pzt 2f so who knows how long they have been in there??? No way to tell I guess, good news is I guess someone took car of the truck at one point right? Also put a K & N cold air intake kit on while we were at it. Have to say it runs Great with tons of pickup and smooth as silk acceleration. So far so good!!!!
