I had a spare regular key made as I broke my "smart key" so the stealership calls it, off inside it while trying to get it off. Lube it up with some PB Blaster or WD-40 every once in a while and you will be alright.

Finally got it off, just smacked it with a hammer until she broke. it was that rusted. now i can put my 33" spare under there

all i did was took a hammer with a small bar and smashed it out i wasn't in the best mood sitting on the side of the rd with a flat tire and cant get my spare. so i took the problem and got rid of it lol

My 2011 is made of genuine plastic rust doesnt seem to be a proplem

Tommy if you tape the plastic handle of the brocken chip key to the new plain key it will start the truck so keep it as a spare. you can also use it to program a new chip key available on ebay for around $8

I'm sure they do. But they honestly are more trouble than they are worth. And a replacemt probably wouldn't be cheap.
