Default So my truck has detonation

Took it to a local tuner/dyno place and they guy had me take him for a ride. Said it is very light detonation. So ill be doing larger injectors to add more fuel to the mix.

Good news is he said id pick up 40-50 hp from doing it so i get rid of the rattle and gain some hp win win lol

on a side note, he had also driven my gfs dads and said mine is a lot more potent haha

Wait, 40 - 50 hp from injectors? That seems a bit, much maybe? I could be wrong because I admit I don't know as much about f/i then I do n/a but even so, I might check on that. Also, are you running a tuner and if so, email, canned or dyno?

Did he check the a/f on it with a wideband?

Regardless of it, whatever issue it has is good to be fixed and it could be leaning out but his numbers seem a bit off to me. Did you ever get a baseline dyno done?

He may be talking 40-50hp above baseline with the Dyno Tune (with injectors).

I'm surprised he didn't pull the a/f charts to see if the injectors were the fuel issue.

never got baseline dyno numbers cuz when i bought the truck it already had the tune and smaller supercharger pulley. But ya he ran it on the wideband and its definitly lean. so hes saying that with the injectors and new updated tune that should be the gain. i didnt really believe it either but id be happy with another 25 haha

Ahh ok yeah 25 would be more realistic but even that, that's a BIG difference but when running f/i with a smaller pulley, it's all in the details of tuning. A solid dyno tune should run you $350 to $450 pending how long it takes and whatnot but it should get everything dialed in dead on. Post up what your graph is once it's done.

well after the first shop i talked to took forever and the second shop took forever I finally got fed up of having to wait and I called Troyer on friday. They said they can do 3 tunes for me and the 39 lb/hr injectors should be sufficient. So I just need to get an air/fuel reading and datalog and send that to them so they can start on my custom tunes
