Snow tires and sizes
Hello,
Can anyone tell me...I have a 2007 Ford F150 Lariat with 20" P275-55-20 tires on it. I want to purchase new snow tires and basic inexpensive stock steel rims for them for the winter season. Most tires sellers do not carry basic 20" rims however some have the snow tire only. I imagine the dealership carries 20" rims but I'm sure at a much higher cost! Most tire shops say they carry basic 17" + 18" rims and variety of 17"+18" snow tires and to buy that size instead! My question would be? Can I put that size of tire on my truck? Will the 17 + 18 inch rims with snow tires fit safely on the truck axle assembly of a 20" factory installed tire especially around the braking system. Thanks for any input!

Just call me sean. Really
The same trucks had 17 or 18s stock, with 20s for an option. you should be fine running a 17-18 inch wheel with a bigger tire to even out the size so they measure the same height

255/75/17 is very close to same diameter.

use the calculator it is kind of interesting.
