Default Smashed my rim...

On the way home from work today I hit a curb and ruined the rim and tire. I got home too late to call local junkyards. Any reason why 18" expedition wheels wouldnt fit? I like the look of them and would consider buying all 4 if i found them for the right price.

They will fit if they are a 6x135mm wheel.

If that was a front wheel, get the alignment checked. If it was a rear, take a good hard look at the axle housing. They can be bent surprisingly easy with a side blow to the wheel. I've seen it happen twice and both times was amazed at how a seemingly small impact bent the tube.

If its going to bend it'll happen outboard of the spring perch so its usually pretty easy to see. A straight edge across the sidewalls of the tire is a good visual aid too. Of course you need a straight wheel to begin with. Or just go to a shop that can do 4 wheel alignment (most all of them do now) and have it checked that way.

Got the truck back from the shop. Replaced bent axel and wheel bearing.

Looks like someone was spinning donuts a little close to curbs. That's a hard hit.

Very hard, especially to bend the axle. Also for it to be just the back wheel.

Let me say that there was about 2-3" of snow. The road was more slippery than i was expecting. The left hand turn is off camber and sloped to the granite curb. I took turn a bit wider than i normally do b/c there was a car on the corner, and the back end went right around, nothing i could do at that point but cringe.
I have no excuses, kinda pissed at my self, especially b/c it was 1/4 from my house, and should know better. I grew up and learned to drive in the snow.
