sluggish start-up
Hey....good news!!! The problem is gone. The truck starts up just fine now. Thinking back, this all started the day after I took the truck through a pressure car wash. Maybe the high pressure water hit the fuel sensor above the spare tire and did something to it. Now that it's dry, the problem is gone, at least that's what I'm thinking. But I'll have to check it anyway, as I wouldn't want this to happen again after a heavy rainy day.
Jonquil, I'll have to check my local Wally World for your suggestion. Thanks. Being in western Canada, Wal-Mart might not carry the same products as in the States.....and I've never heard of Seafoam except on here. Don't know if that's available here either, or if it's good or bad, nor what it can be used for.
Problem is gone....I didn't do anything to solve it. It's just gone. Thinking back, I remember this started the day after I took the truck through a high pressure car wash. Maybe some of the water got into the fuel sensor underneath the spare tire. Now that's the weather is warmer, any water would have evaporated. Weird!!!
My 4.2 does this as well I just turn the key to the on position until the key in ignition stops beeping (like 10seconds) once it stops I crank and it always works. If I don't do this it sputters on start up. I'm guessing it doesn't have fuel pressure that's why I put the key on the on position to build pressure. Other than that my truck runs amazing.
Fuel filter.. fixed mine... These trucks crank for a few seconds when you try to start them.. and they quit after they start... or after a couple seconds(i dont remember how long)... but if it halfass starts the start keeps trying to start it... Sounds alittle rough.. i ignore it and go on
