Default Slow

Hey yall I got a 4.6 f150. Lifted 6 inches on 35s and its slow as ****. top speed probably 85 and it goes 0-60 in about 17 or 18 seconds. I know some threads say their trucks are slow going 0-60 in 12 seconds. Will someone help me diagnose this problem? Is it simply just because of stock gears? How much faster will regearing it make it??

you don't have a race car there brother.. 35s on a 6"lift with a 4.6 isn't helping either. with no mention on gear size or any other specs you are essentially going to get laughed at. more information will help direct all of us to an answer for you.

Pretty much exactly this. 4.6 on 35's with a 6 inch lift = surprised your transmission hasn't packed it in already.

Yep. My 5.4 was slow before I put 35's on. Ended up replacing the rear diff soon after the 35 went on and a long trailer haul. So I'm still running a stock 3.73 gears. My pinion bearing and prob axle bearings were going out. I started getting a high grinding like hum which from experience means the rear is going. I'm going to slowly rebuild the old rear with 4.56 gears. I'm surprised you haven't had problems especially if you're driving it like a race car. I've learned to baby my trucks. Especially after upping the tire size. 35's are heavy!
If you regear , you'll likely have more power but it's going to probably be slower. With a 4.6 I'd consider dropping the lift to 2" or stock and running a smaller tire. Hope you don't plan on pulling a trailer.
Good luck!
