Default Skeptical of my MPG

When I got the truck roughly 6 months ago I was getting nearly 15-17mpg highway and 12-14 city. After installing a 2.5" level I now see highway at 11.5-12.5 and city as low as 10mpg. Would something as simple as a level cause such a decease on MPG's?

You changed the aerodynamics of the truck. It's possible. I haven't noticed that big of a change with my 2.5" level.

I know that my mileage went down after installing my tonneau cover so I could imagine that a level could do the same.

I don't think I have ever heard of tonneaus causing loss of mpg. Weird.

idk, i have a hard time believing the level alone caused that, i dont see those numbers even with my larger tires and level. Hows the maintenence on the truck? Crummy fuel filter?

I'm in need of an oil change, and will be going to ford on Wednesday. I'm gunna have them check the fuel filter, which was my first guess.

Usually the level is not the cause of a decrease in MPG, it's the things that go along with it..bigger tires

I've noticed a big difference with fuel. Cheap gas stations with 10% ethanol tend to give me the worst milage. Fuel filters tend to get a lot of crap in them with the gas these days. I would change it.
