Default Simple muffler question

I just got my Edge Evo and put it in (first performance mod). I'm going to put on a Flowmaster Series 40 now and want to know if I will get any real hp or torque increase from just the muffler on my stock set up. I'm sure you people will be telling me to get a full cat back exhaust set up or something but I'm cheap and it starts there. So decision already made; what should i expect? And does the programmer increase the effectivness of the muffler in any way or would the gain be the same regardless of the Edge? Thanks for your time guys.

PS - Got my Edge off some guy on craigslist for $140 w/ pod and what not.. Amazing deal or whatttt (like I said I'm cheap)

I got better throttle response from my flowmaster. That was the only thing I actually noticed. I don't have a programmer so I can't help you there.

Yes, you will get some power from it, and it sounds great! I took my Cherrybomb to a muffler shop and had them get rid of the exhaust/muffler from the cab back. Then weld on the Cherrybomb and make a 90degree bend so it exits in front of the rear tire. They only charged $100, which is pretty cheap compared to a $400 exhaust kit

I'm thinking to change the muffler only for a magnaflow or a flomaster 50 suv... don't know which one to take.
