A less than 30 second Google search got this:

http://www.auto-glass.com/carmirror.htm

Navigating through their site for our Fords (2004 to 2008) gets you here:

https://www.internetglassnetwork.com...150_pickup.htm

$21.95 for drivers side, $26.95 for passenger side. Just be sure to specify manual or power mirrors, as the glass size and cut is different between the two.

Even has instructions on how to replace the glass.

Hmmmm. I just assumed he already tried his local Ford dealership, as he stated "they have a tendency to charge a lot".

last time i had this happen the dealer charged me $50 which was a little ridiculous and when i had to put a new tranmission in at 30000 miles (and 3 months removed from the warranty) it was 2700 (which i know transmissions arent cheap but still i just have a grudge against the dealership for that)
