Default Shudder and codes

  1. All eight plugs, boots, and coils have been changed and I still have a shudder, although not at bad. On a 15 mile drive to town this morning it happened twice, on the way home, once. And I can't force it to happen like I used to. So progress has been made but not complete. What else could be causing this?
  2. I have a BlueDriver scan tool. The only faults either before or after changing everything are U1950 UBP Communication Bus Fault and P1000 On-Board Diagnostic OBD Systems Readiness Test Not Complete. What should I be looking for to try to resolve these?
Thanks

The P1000 DTC is just an incomplete drive cycle.. not sure what the other code is for.. sounds like an com error with the security module.. I’m not sure how that’s making the motor run like you stated ..

These engines are very picky when it comes to ignition. What brand of pugs and coils were used? Were you very careful to make sure everything was clean and making good contact?

Thanks Mark,
Badfish, the dealer did the 8 plugs and one COP using Ford stuff. I did the other 7 COPs using Ford parts I bought through Steve at Tasca. Everything certainly seemed clean and in good contact. If not, wouldn't a poor contact throw off another code?

I don't know what that means. The ground cable was removed from the battery prior to changing out the COPs.

I've had 3 or 4 misfires and only 1 actually threw a code or even made the CEL come on. So no not necessarily. Sounds like good parts were used. How long has it been since the battery was disconnected? Did you do the relearn process after the battery was hooked back up?
