Default Should i get a superchip?

My buddy at work has a similar truck with the superchip and will sell it to me for $100 due to him getting an edge. Thoughts? Experience?

There's reasons he's begging the edge. I would just save my money and find a used edge

If you value your transmission and motor, pass on the chip. It's not worth shortening the life of your motor for a tiny difference in power. The only trucks that get a lot of power from chips are diesels.. But they still aren't good for the motors and trannys

Yeah I was just wondering if you meant a superchips programmer. I don't have any experience with computer chips, only tuners. So I can't say good or bad about them.

I run a diablo chip on my Lightning, It was tuned for my truck however with a 16# setup and an addittional 100hp shot and never had a problem. However with the programmers out there now, I would go with them. Not the chip, so you can do some tuning yourself or have a tuner do it on a dyno for you.
