Default Shorted Accessory wire

I was installing dvd headrests and while testing the accessory wire, it fell and shorted out. Now the radio won't power up.

I checked both radio fuses and both are fine. Does Ford have a fusible link, or is there something else I can try?????

This is on a 2007 Ford F150.

Sounds like you blew a fuse somewhere if you're not getting any power. Do you have a volt meter?? It will tell you which wires are getting power and which ones aren't.

You are right. The "switched accessory wire" is no longer live. I've checked both Radio Fuses, and any other "delayed accessory" fuses that I could think of. All fuses are fine.

Are there any fuseable links?, fuses located somewhere else other than the main fuse block that I'm missing?

thanks for your help...

There are three fusible links in the Ford new style trucks. One protects the alternator to battery (located in the engine compartment by the battery); the other two I cannot recall, and I don't have my Chiltons repair manual with me. Try these links that have the wiring diagrams:

You will need to open them up using ADOBE and increase their size to read them.

Found the culprit. Fuse #22. Apparently the Radio's with NAV have 7 fuses.
