Default Shopping for a SuperCrew

New to the Ford world. I am coming back to a track after having a 3/4 ton diesel Dodge, then a BMW M3, now I want to find a happy medium with a F-150 Supercrew.

Couple of questions for you guys (and gals).

Anything specific to look for when checking them out on the lot?

I want the center console, do those only come on FX4 and Lariats?

Are 5.5ft and 6.5ft beds kind of randomly dispersed through the models?

What changed from '04-'05? I think these are the models years I am going to be shopping in to stay in my set budget.

To those of you who have done it, do I need longer shocks with a leveling kit?

Sorry for all the questions, just want to get up to speed on these. I can run down any tech spec on numerous years of M3's but I feel a little lost since I basically started looking today.

Best, Blair from Hillsboro, Oregon

Welcome to the site!!

x2 on what SCC said. You can build your truck and get a good idea on a price for the truck you want. You'll also be able to see incentives on the F150.

You won't need longer shocks if you use a leveling kit.

The first thing I would do if it was a Ford dealer would be to find one you liked and see if they could change the spark plugs, assuming that goes well I would buy it.

What is the metric size for 33'' tires for an 18'' wheel? I really like the looks of the FX4 wheels, those are 18 inch correct?

They also put the 20 inch 6 spoke wheels on the Fx4's.
