Default Shifting issue.

Hello Everyone,
I'm having an issue with my 2008 and looking for help. It has 90,000 miles on it, and I've had it for about year. Since I've had it there are times when it sounds like a fan comes on while I'm driving. It is quite loud and when I
accelerate it gets louder and sounds like the engine rpms are increasing, but they aren't. Eventually it will stop.
I've also had times while driving through town at 25-35 mph where it will act as though it goes into neutral. It seems to do it around the 2000 rpm mark.

Tonight I had a new issue, and it seemed to be a combination of both of both issues above. The fan noise started, and then the truck started shifting erratically. It would shift up and down and seemed to hang up at around 2000 rpms. I have no idea what could be causing this, and hope someone may be able to lend me a hand.

Thank you for the help.

The fan is mechanically driven, so it cant spin up faster without giving it more RPM's. The shifting may be the OD clip that seems to regularly break off in the 4r75's
