i have an 05 f150 fx4 automatic i was off roading and my shifter all of a sudden started to move freely and wasnt engaging in anything. later when i turned it off i couldn't turn it back on it wasnt turning over or anything. i went underneath where the shift cable goes to the trans and moved the linkage until it started. it will drive but thats it it wont go into reverse or park not even neutral so im not sure how it starts, i think its the shift cable bc it looks worn out right before it goes into the truck but im not sure if thats whats causing the problem
