Shifter cable replacement?

Are there any links or tips on how to replace this cable? Mine is frayed and came out of casing. Looks like whole cable came out of retainer and was against exhaust manifold

Guess noone had this or knows about attachment points

Is there retaining clips on ball connection on ends of cable
