Not sure if this is a common problem. Shifter cable failed on my 06 with a little over 50K on the clock. Was pulling camper went to check in Wife jumped out to check us in. Not sure how but trans stuck in second. I couldn't back up, struggled moving camper. Left truck running as I figured it wouldn't start again because of netural safety switch (I tested it later and I was right). Campground parked my trailer (Chevy). Ford dispatched a towtruck. got a call from dealer a little after 7a on sat. No parts local and about $200 for the cable.
