So im looking to shave my door handles but I cant find the door handle fillers for these trucks anywhere. Has any one ever messed with this before. If so, can you give me any advice on it. Also, what would be a good kit to go with. And FYI, im about to put a remote start in the truck too so how would the keychains work for this?
Buy the best kit you can afford. Get a remote with four or more function for door/doors, remote start, alarm, etc. If your doing the work yourself, go to a junkyard and buy a door off another ford, or try a body shop and ask for some junk sheet metal off wrecks, they'll usually give it to you. You could also try places like FBI, Godfathers, or AIM for the fillers. Weld SLOW!!!!! Tack the fillers in and weld only about a inch at a time alternating from side of patch to side of patch or better yet door to door.
As far as the solenoids go I'd prolly do a 75lb one, no lighter. Put yourself a emergency pull switch hidden somewhere in case your battery dies, and mount your emergency buttons in a hidden area. When I did my last truck I took the engine pull switch from in the cab and mounted it under the front bumper hidden so you had to look and reach for it, my safety net for the battery. Make sure you mount the solenoids so they drain water too in case they get wet.
I use the kit from autoloc on mine, but spal is supposed to be good to. Thinking about them for my VW. Make sure you crimp the pull wires good to, really sucks trying to find another cable to make the one you screwed up work.
If you have a screw, make sure you get enough slenoids and all for the four doors too.
Also get a good set of poppers for your doors. These little things install in your jambs and are spring loaded to 'push' your door open so you can grab it. Self lubricating chrome one with the rubber tip.
god luck too

thanks for the help! but im a little confused; why get another door from a junkyard? is that in case i mess up or were you saying use that door to cut a filler from? and just to let you know, i dont know the first thing about welding. lol i wish i did. im probably gonna install the door poppers myself but all the welding and body work/paint will be done by a guy i know.
Yeah get the use door for the fillers you can make. Prolly cheaper that way them buying filler panels. If doesn't even have to be a door, fender or beside will work.
If you make your patch panels, I've done it two ways. Cut a cardboard template and work it till it fills the hole perfectly, that way if you screw up you can start over with cardboard. Second, masking tape over your hole you cut out. Cut the tape in the hole and trasfer that to your metal your going to make your patch out of. Should be a perfect fit.
If you install the solenoids and all and remove the handles and are going to wait any amount of time, duct tape the inside and outside of the hole to prevent water from getting it there. Don't worry about it getting baked on, your going to have to repaint the door anyway.
