Severe intermittent vibration/shaking

I know this is an old thread, but I'll jump in anyway. I'm experiencing what sounds to me to be a similar vibration issue. The truck is an '04 5.4L FX4 with some 110K miles on it. The vibration is intermittent, and seems to come through the body of the truck rather than just the front end. Did you find that the e-brake linkage was the problem? Many thanks for any info/thoughts.
