Default Self-test diagnostics

2005 F150 Lariat

Auto-Temp controls

The temp controls worked fine and then one day it kept shorting out and sticking on cold or turning off all together, etc.

I ran the self-test and got 5 codes!!!!

2796- A/C sunload sensor open circuit
2266- Blend door failure or short
1263-Panel door short/failure
2268-Steering wheel control switch open
1342-EATC module faulted

My question is, what are the chances that all 5 of these things broke at once? Or, can it be that one piece is causing all these shorts? What is the cheapest solution? and how can I do it myself?

Thanks

Not likely that they all broke at once, unless you had some kind of power surge. More likely that a ground has gone bad or is disconnected, but some of these are probably on different circuits. I'm going to guess computer, but just because that's the common factor and cheap to test. Disconnect the battery and let the computer reset. Drive it for a bit after and see if the problems are still there. Once you've eliminated the computer you can start looking for electrical gremlins.
