Default Rust problem pls help!!!!

So I have an 08 fx4. I use it for work it does see alot of gravel and rocks on oilfield roads. So my bottom front bumper has seen better days. Every single rock chip on the white painted steel bumper has rust around and in it and it's getting worse....I was thinking I'd remove the bumper completely strip it to bare metal again and prime and paint it to match the truck. Now I've been reading up on this spray on plastic paint protection made by 3M.....has any one ever used it? Or is that a dumb idea? Was also thinking about maybe gravel guarding the front bumper in black and applying this 3M protection. Has anyone ever done any thing like this? Pictures and any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Its a great idea, BUT use the DUPLI-COLOR Bed Armor with Kevlar. I did my toolbox and the stuff is great! at some poing I will alos be doing my front and rear bumpers.
