Default RPM gauge acting up.

I don't drive my truck much so not really sure when it started but today I noticed my rpm gauge was zeroing out at about 3k, so with the truck off the gauge was still at 3. I changed my edge to show rpm and it was reading just fine.
Once I got home I reset my edge back to stock and also pulled my battery for about 15 minutes. everything went back to normal after I connected the battery. Went and drive it for a bit and then it started up again. It climbs just fine it when going down it jumps and slows and eventually stops falling. Right now it's zeroed at about 1k. Truck runs fine so it just seems to be at the cluster

Any body ever experienced this or anything. Anything else to try or suggestions?
