Default RPM drop and cat questions

Hey guys,

2004 f150 5.4 92,000 miles

I just had the plugs replaced and it is running better but the truck seems to still be idling low. I Also have a rotten egg smell and believe it to be the cats. I was wondering if the cats could cause the low idle? I plan to clean the throttle body this weekend. I plan to get a tuner for the truck soon and cut the cats off but then I thought about emissions and am going to put some stainless works cats on hoping that that will get rid of my smell. What do you guys think?

Magna flow universals are about $100 each, IIRC.

The rotten egg smell is normally fouled cats, and if you were misfiring for any length of time could easily be the issue.

Thanks. That sounds about right. I'm hoping that cleaning the throttle body will help the idle

Also truck seems to have more water coming out of exhaust than normal. Is that cat related too?
