Default Rough hot start

Recently bought a 2007 f150 with 100k miles. The previous owner seemed to have taken good care of it and when i test drove had no issues. Recently after it sits for around a hour after driving it cranks for a long time sometimes sputtering, but starts with ease on second try… Thought it was just not getting enough fuel so i changed the fuel filter which drained with dirty fuel. But the issue continued, then checked spark plugs which were good and changed a dirty air filter and still have had no luck solving the issue. Would be open to any advice on the issue.

it’s very rare for a fuel filter to cause lack of sufficient fuel pressure. would be best if you had a tool/scanner tk monitor fuel pressure? Regardless though, first thing to check out is your FPDM and it’s ground which is close to fpdm. google if needed for info on fpdm, tons of info readily avail.

also. have you scanned for dtc codes?
