So my truck up to this point has ran pretty much flawlessly. However.. I've noticed in the last week or so when accelerating, it slightly struggles and isn't really as smooth when accelerating. I can't describe the sound but it almost..staggers..? Any thoughts? 2005 with the 5.4 liter.. Almost 124k miles. I can try to post a video, but idk if I can capture the sound I'm hearing.

 

I'm having the same exact problem and I have 125k on my 05 5.4 my mechanic ran his computer and said it was running lean but that it could be a number of things

 

Yea, I am hoping to diagnose the issue before I consider a mechanic. I am due for an oil change, however this hasn't ever done this before!

 

Mine was doing that and eventually threw a misfire code. Ending up being a COP. I replaced it with a cheap one from ebay and hasn't come back. I hope it's that simple for you too
