Rim Spacers?

Rim Spacers?
Have a question about rim spacers and I'm curious if anyone is using them? I recently put some 305/55/20's on my stock rims and at full lock im getting a little rub on the control arms. I think with a small 1/4 inch rim spacer it will solve my problem. Discount tire said they dont recommend using them but i was curious what ya'lls thoughts on them are. Anyone using them?

I have never used them on my vehicles but I have used the wheel adapter spacers. They are billet aluminum that actually bolt on to your existing studs and give you extra space. I use those on my T/A and have never had any troubles. Now my cousin runs a quarter in spacer on his Monte Carlo in order to run a set of wheels and he has never had an issue with those. I would imagine with the spacer, if you make sure it is torqued correctly there would not be an issue but I would check them on a regular basis.
As for the smallest bolt on adapter/spacer, there is a 1.3" from www.adaptitusa.com and I would not think twice about using this product but it may give you more space than you are looking for. Like I said, I have it on my T/A and run it very very hard when it is out of the garage. Hope something from this helps you out.

Thanks for the info......It just started when i get my truck re-aligned. Its ever so slight but it on my sidewall and i don't want it to rub a circle in the tire. I was at Pep-boys and they had the 6 lug 1/4 inch aluminum spacers i think it will take care of my problem but it said not for offroad use. I dont do any serious off-roading so im not to worried I just would have to make sure they are torqued down nice and tight. I also thought about grinding down the edge of the Arm just slightly to help it. Any thoughts on that?

I had less than 1/4 IN of space between my UCA and my new 35x12.5 Mickey Thompson ATZ. I opted to get a set of the billet aluminum spacers, 1.5", and love it. My turning radius has increased some but I love the wider stance now, especially with the body lift. I feel no roll and stable all the time. I got mine from a guy on eBay, whole set for under $100. Not sure if thats a deal still but anyways, good luck!
