Default rim question.

okay so normally i don't have a problem finding out things by myself but i don't wanna drop a ton of money for them not to work, the rims are 17x9 4.25 backspacing with a -12mm offset im so confused with the combination what would this make the wheels? i figure close to a wheel that has a 5.5 backspacing? since negative offset pushes the wheel out more. anyone that knows for sure any help would be appreciated

What exactly are you asking?? A 17x9 wheel with a -12mm offset has a backspacing of 4.5". That is true for any size rim with a 9" width and a -12mm offset...be it a 18, 20, 22, 24..etc. You can run that wheel with a 33x12.5 tire on a leveled 4x4.

ohhh...yeah those are one in the same. I mean offset and backspacing mean two different things but those numbers each represent one another. It depends on the width of the rim but with that info, you can tell it is a 9" wide wheel.
