Default Reverse Sensors

I have a 2004 Fx4 and I am having problems with my backup sensors. I just recently changed them all because I was getting false readings from my old ones. I replaced them with all new sensors but I noticed that after I changed them that they ALL only worked a foot out from the bumper. Someone told me it might be the module but I am unsure what that is or means. Any help would be appreciated.

I had a problem with two of mine and replaced them with aftermarket ones with no issues

The sensors that were on my truck before were from the factory. The ones I bought weren't bought from ford however they are the same type of sensor that I took off.

Most likely this is why they only measure out by a foot (using aftermarket sensors). Either the aftermarket ones you bought are not compatable with the Ford controller, or they simply are not that "sensitive".

In my past experiences with replacing an "option" part with one made to go with an aftermarket kit, I find they almost never work as OEM.

It will be hard in your case to prove, unless you buy some OEM replacements, and try it, or, if someone else did what you did, then switched over to OEM and got the range back.
